The calculator used here is the most accurate way to calculate your current year annual leave entitlement to date based on the actual worked plus any annual hours accrued on protected leave time taken.
Depending on time worked, employees' holiday entitlements should be calculated by one of the following methods:
4 working weeks in a leave year in which the employee works at least 1,365 hours (unless it is a leave year in which he or she changes employment)
1/3 of a working week per calendar month that the employee works at least 117 hours
8% of the hours an employee works in a leave year (but subject to a maximum of 4 working weeks).
If more than one of the preceding methods at (1), (2) or (3) above is applicable, the employee shall be entitled to whichever method provides the greater entitlement. However, the maximum statutory annual leave entitlement of an employee in a leave year is four of his/her normal working weeks.
Please note
1. This calculator only applies to employees minimum statutory annual leave entitlements.
2. Some employers give more than the statutory annual leave and these are not covered with this calculator.
3. If you are part time and work 20 hours per week and do not work any additional hours above 20 then your annual leave for 1 year is 4 weeks or 80 hours. If you are part time and work additional hours then you may use the annual leave entitlement as derived by the calculator, subject to a maximum of 156 annual leave hours in the year.
